Hello!!
I just got my Pc VGA to S-Video AV RCA TV OUT converter adapter cable, I thought I just need to connect to the VGA in my laptop and put the other end to my TV (where my ps3 is on) so I did that and nothing happened… I looked for more information and I found something which says to press the fn + crt/lcd buttons on the keyboard, when I did that it showed me a little different but not the image from the pc in my TV.
In my TV it has a Video IN 2 which is in front of the TV, when I connect my PC VGA Adapter to that one, my laptop make a sound like something just connected (same sounds when we put USB to any computer) and (I have windows XP) I do the right click and it says,
1. Monitor
2. Laptop
3. Both (monitor and laptop)
So I click the number 3 and it does still not show anything
But, When I put the connectors in the back which is VIDEO IN 1, and VIDEO OUT 1 it just do not do anything, no even the sound that something connected to my laptop, just nothing
I am wondering if I need to buy something else or what I am doing bad, thank yyou!!
I put a picture of the adapter I bought

That will NEVER work.
Those VGA-to-Svideo adapter cables are meant for video cards that have a specially-built VGA port capable of sending out an S-video signal. It will NOT work with just any VGA port.
Your computer’s VGA port is NOT one of those specially-built ones, which is why that adapter you bought won’t work, and never will.

After you connect it and set your laptop to both, you need to change your TV’s channel to the correct one for that input.
